I'd never heard of MSI until I started shopping for her laptop this year. Her last laptop had become so slow and I wanted to get her a fast machine. We've always bought mid-priced laptops for her (usually HP and Toshiba in the $600-700 range) and they usually disappoint as far as reliability is concerned. My wife needed a new laptop for business use. I do recommend you to keep the Dragon center app, it helps battery life and screen changing if you want in a easy way. Once in game the fan might start working to keep the machine cool, and they can be loud, they do keep the machine cool though, but with a price, sometimes even with the headpiece on, I can hear the airplane engine. There are two weird things about keyboard, windows key on the other side of keyboard (go figure) and delete key above numerical pad (this one i liked). They can be a bit noise if you in total silence. Keyboard feels great, I do spend a lot of time working in it (spreadsheets won`t type by themselves) and the keys are soft but stiff, you can feel that there was some love put to make them. There is a space for another 2.5 inch HDD if you want, the bottom cover is easy to remove, but is not perfect, you can have some trouble going around it, so be careful with your corners and with the audio jack side. Sound wise it is OK, like most laptops, they are loud but most of time I`m with my headset, no problems there. Screen wise, this is great, there is some light leakage in the bottom part of the screen, but is only noticeable when you are in the complete dark and the screen is dark also (you should never play in the complete dark, it will harm you eyes), nothing that will remove your joy of playing. Gaming run smoothly, I have a median FPS of 45, running all my games at high resolution (Halo MSC / Senua`s HB / Call of Duty WW2 / Okami HD ) This is a good machine for gaming, and working (if you bought it only for working, you did a bad deal - there are cheaper ones that will do your work as good as this one) So what I did was i reinstalled windows, got rid of the native apps and done. So, once this machine arrived I got a BSD, first thought was ''muthar flower this thing is crap''.
